13-year-old arrested for making threats of shooting at Pioneer School in Delano

News

Delano police arrested a 13-year-old boy for writing out threats in a bathroom to shoot people at school.

Police said the 13-year-old is a student at Pioneer School and was arrested at his home.

The boy was charged with criminal threats and threatening school officials. He was taken to Juvenile Hall.

Officials said a teacher at Pioneer School was notified of a post to Snapchat indicating who wrote the threat.

In a statement, Delano police say there doesn’t appear to be a continued threat to students and school officials, but there will be an increased police presence at the school through the end of the week.
