1 person wounded after getting robbed, shot at Silver Creek Park, police say

Bakersfield police said one person was wounded after getting robbed and shot at a park in Southwest Bakersfield Friday night.

Police said it happened at Silver Creek Park in the 7000 block of Harris Road just after 8 p.m. 

Officers said the victim — described as a male juvenile — was shot once in the leg during a robbery. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and police said his wound was not life-threatening.

Police said the robbers approached a group at the park, brandished a gun, and demanded their things. That’s when the a shot was fired. 

Police said one juvenile was later found with a gun. He was arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall. 

Police said they are looking for a 16-year-old boy who was wearing dark clothing and had a blue backpack.
