1 person killed after being struck by train in Oildale

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said a man was killed by a train in Oildale Tuesday evening.

The man was hit and killed by a Union Pacific train at Willow and Harris drives. The sheriff’s office said the collision happened at around 7:15 p.m.

KCSO officials said the collision is being investigated by the Union Pacific Railroad Police Department.

17 News reached to the Union Pacific officials for more details, but they have not responded.

So far in 2018, 10 pedestrians have been killed in Kern County.
