1 killed, 1 wounded in Fordham Street shooting in Northeast Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Police said one man is dead, another was wounded following a shooting at a home in Northeast Bakersfield on Friday evening.

The shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. in the 2800 block of Fordham Street.

Officers were called for a report of a shooting at a residence.

Police described the two victims as adult Hispanic males. One of the men was found dead in the backyard of the home, while other was found shot in the front yard.

Police said seven children and numerous adults were at the home when the shooting occurred. None of the children were wounded. 

It was unclear if it was a gang-related shooting, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, and since children were present, police urged the public to provide any information on the case by calling the police department at 327-7111.
