A cardiologist who allegedly owes more than $4.2 million in unpaid child support has been named the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Inspector General’s ‘Most Wanted Deadbeat.’

David Lawrence Adams, 67 years old, who worked in Florida as a cardiologist, was ordered to pay $2,500 a month starting in 1994 for his two children, whose custodial parent resided in New York, according to authorities.

Investigators believe he fled to Israel to avoid paying child support. A warrant for his arrest was issued in August 2008.

Adams may visit Florida periodically to continue his medical practice, according to investigators.
