Inmate visitation remains suspended at Kern jails due to COVID-19

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Inmate visitation at Lerdo and downtown jails will remain suspended as a result of the coronavirus through at least Oct. 15, according to sheriff’s officials.

Attorney and professional visitation is allowed but social distancing and face masks are required, a sheriff’s news release said.

A decision will be made Oct. 15 on whether the suspension will continue.
