Local veterans to go skydiving in Taft this weekend

A group of veterans are set to take the sky for an experience they will never forget. 

On Saturday, Feb. 17, eight veterans are set to skydive in Taft. 

This is the second time the local organization, Comrades and Canopies has teamed up with Honor Flight Kern County and taken Koren War, WWII and Vietnam veterans tandem skydiving at Skydive Taft. 

While the money has already been raised for this weekend’s costs, event organizer Chad Garcia says they are hosting a couple fundraisers for future Comrades and Canopies and Honor Flight Kern County events.

Donations are accepted at the following locations:

Wednesday, Feb. 14 
BJ’s on Stockdale Highway
11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 16
Salty’s BBQ on White Lane
10 a.m. to closing 

Donations are being accepted up until Saturday at Skydive Taft located at 500 Airport Road in Taft.
