A story of human kindness.
Local Girl Scouts decided to show some support and love for new mothers at Dignity Health Memorial Hospital.
The Girl Scouts wanted to make sure the recovering mothers have a very special Mother’s Day.
“The girls decided to conduct a community service activity, they decided on Mother’s Day they wanted to decorate little tote bags to give out to the moms. They are so totally excited,” said Dinneen Gerard-Larsen, 2571 Troop Leader.
Girl Scouts, Reese and Kylie we’re giving out presents for the moms that are about to have a baby or that already have babies.
Daryn Gonzalez, 9, Girl Scout, said “We want them to be able to experience that their motherhood.”
Girl Scouts, Jamie and Lily, added “We’ve been passing out bags for the mothers.”
“Here’s one of the bags we made. They’ve been really happy because they love these,” said Reese.
“It’s very quiet, and it’s kind of scary at first but then it’s fun,” said Daryn.
“The babies were really cute,” said Jamie.
“We say happy Mother’s Day and if they already have a baby then we say congratulations,” said Daryn.
Reese added, “It was fun, really fun, but we still have more bags and we still have more moms and if we have extras we’re going give them to the nurses.”
The Girl Scouts said their favorite part was making the world a better place
