Churches, ministries join to rally against street violence

Community

Members of more than 40 churches and 30 ministries met at Martin Luther King Jr. Park on Saturday afternoon to send one message: stop the violence.
Organizers say they held the event to show the strength of their faith and community in the face of rising crime in the area.
In addition to free barbecue for attendees, the group was able to give away 282 bags of groceries to families in need.
