Vanessa Dillon is weekend anchor and weekday reporter.
Vanessa joined KGET in 2019.
Vanessa spent the first part of 2019 working as a flight attendant for a major airline. While traveling is among one of her many passions, she could not get away from her innate calling to tell stories and report the news.
Vanessa studied Intercultural Communication and got her Bachelor’s Degree at Pepperdine University in 2016. Shortly after, she began her career as a journalist in Yuma, Ariz., where she covered a variety of stories that have reached the national platform.
She has covered visits by President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence to the U.S. Mexico border, immigration and border security issues and the controversy behind child separations at the Southern border.
While Vanessa believes everyone has a story, she is most passionate about being an advocate for the voiceless. Her story interests include crime, immigration and social issues.
As a Southern California native, Vanessa is thrilled to be close to home, serving Kern County.
During her free time, Vanessa likes to spend time with her English bulldog or staying active as a spin class fanatic. Vanessa is excited to connect with people in the Golden Empire and looks forward to becoming a source the community can trust and count on.
