Taylor Schaub joined 17 News as a reporter in November 2019.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Schaub has been around broadcast news since the day he was born. Both his father Jeffrey, a reporter for KPIX-TV, and mother Margaret, a former producer for KGO-TV, worked in television for more than 20 years.
Taylor studied sports broadcasting at the Full Sail University’s Dan Patrick School of Sportscasting in Orlando, Florida. There he learned under top industry professionals and developed a feverish love for storytelling. After graduating Magna Cum Laude and Salutatorian of his college class, Taylor accepted a reporter position at KGET at the age of 20.
There he has covered coronavirus pandemic, George Floyd protests, and multiple major breaking news stories on 17 News at Sunrise. Taylor has also highlighted many giving members of the Golden Empire. He considers it an “honor and privilege” to share this chapter in Kern County’s history.
In his spare time, Taylor loves to play golf and cook for family and friends.
