Olivia LaVoice is KGET’s victim’s advocate.
She joined Channel 17 in 2015 after getting her master’s degree in journalism at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California. She has a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University in New York.
During her time in New York, Olivia spent summers interning for the news-magazine series, America Now. Olivia originally thought she wanted to go into print journalism until she became hooked on Dateline NBC. She says watching Keith Morrison every day for years is what made her realize broadcast journalism was the path for her.
Olivia is excited to bring her love for investigative journalism to Kern County.
In her spare time Olivia loves watching Dateline NBC, 20/20, and true crime documentaries. She also enjoys reading mystery novels.
