Mya Acosta the producer of Studio 17 Live!
Mya recently moved to Tehachapi from her home of Wichita, KS. She graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors from Wichita State University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Electronic Media.
She also attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS where she studied Mass Communications. In Lindsborg, Mya interned with the Lindsborg Ad Hoc Roundtable where she interviewed community members and published a weekly newsletter.
At Wichita State, she interned for KMUW, Wichita’s NPR station, where she worked in the NewsLab and studied under the station’s reporters and on-air talents.
Mya also interned for Wichita State’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions as the Digital Media Strategist Assistant. She scripted, directed, filmed, edited and published short documentaries and videos about students and alumni.
In her free time, she loves to read novels and poetry, watch overrated movies and sew her own clothes.
Mya moved to Tehachapi directly after graduating and is excited to grow her passions for storytelling and videography as the producer of Studio 17 Live.
She hopes to become an active member of the Kern County community while supporting and sharing local businesses and creators through KGET’s Lifestyle Show.
