Maddie Janssen

Maddie Janssen is the anchor for the Emmy Award winning 17 News at Sunrise. Maddie is a Bakersfield native, Driller ’04 alumni, and 2007 graduate from Chapman University. This local girl relishes waking up before the crack of dawn, (if her three kids let her sleep that long) to help Kern County residents start their day with all the news they need to know, and hopefully a smile and a laugh. Maddie has been with KGET since 2009. Before that she was a reporter at KULR8 in Billings, Montana.

In 2019 the Janssens moved up to Tehachapi where they love hiking, biking, exploring, and raising their chickens in the mountain air.
