Karen Marroquin joined the KGET and Telemundo team in August 2022. She co-anchors the 5:30 p.m. newscast for Telemundo and is a multimedia journalist for KGET.
Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Marroquin studied broadcast journalism at the Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University. At ASU, Marroquin was actively involved with the campus television station. She anchored newscasts for Cronkite News Arizona PBS and created stories for Cronkite’s spanish newscast, Cronkite Noticias.
In her last semester at ASU, Marroquin moved to Los Angeles as part of a Cronkite professional program. She covered a variety of topics, including beehive thefts in the Central Valley, which earned her an Emmy.
Marroquin believes Kern County workers play an essential role in providing the nation’s fresh produce and is excited to give back by serving her community.
