Ilyana Capellan

Ilyana is a California girl born and raised in sunny SoCal. She attended Austin Peay State University on a cheerleading scholarship and graduated in 2017 with her Communications degree in Broadcast Journalism.

While at APSU Ilyana was very active in the Communications Department, hosting and producing her own weekly talk show, and anchoring the campus news program. She was also a member of The National Broadcasting Society and was crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year. Following graduation, Ilyana and her husband moved back to the Golden State and started their life and careers in Los Angeles. Ilyana worked in Reality TV for a few years as a Logger and Associate Producer. You can catch her work on Bravo, USA Network, Lifetime, and E!.

Ilyana is excited to continue her news career at KGET and be a part of the Kern County Community. She’s thrilled to be sharing local stories and bringing awareness to issues and subjects that the viewers relate to. She cares about keeping people informed and sharing the facts.

When she’s not working for KGET she can be found binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy, Forensic Files, and curly hair videos on YouTube. She loves traveling with her husband and family to anywhere warm with a beach and is a sucker for sunsets. She enjoys napping, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
