Candy Cáceres is an Emmy-nominated, bilingual news and weather anchor for Telemundo Valle Central and NBC KGET-17.
Candy grew up in the Dominican Republic, moved to New Jersey at 16, and eventually attended New Jersey City State University, where she interned for Telemundo 47, the network’s New York affiliate. This opportunity helped her land her first job in the industry.
In 2002 Candy moved to California, eventually becoming a general assignment reporter for KRCA Estrella TV in Los Angeles. At KRCA, she covered an array of high-profile and breaking news stories, including crime, fires, and immigration. She also demonstrated a knack for investigative reports.
Since 2011, Candy has made Bakersfield her home, displaying a commitment to her adopted city by regularly participating in community and charity events. She has also represented Bakersfield at several state and national pageants, winning a state title in 2021 and again in 2023.
In her free time, Candy loves hanging out with her daughter, Adrielle. She also hikes, plays tennis, and restores old furniture.
