Short Term Forecast
Today
Hot
From Chief Meteorologist Alissa Carlson in the Pinpoint Weather Center...The weather will be dry for the Fourth of July weekend in Kern County. A stable airmass is in place and we've taken the chance of afternoon thunderstorms out of the forecast for the mountains and deserts. Temperatures will average near 100 degrees for daytime highs through Sunday. By Monday, a low pressure system in the Pacific Northwest will start to drop towards California. This will help lower temperatures back into the 90's. An even bigger trough will help temperatures fall into the upper 80's by midweek.
