From the Pinpoint Weather Center… Mother Nature decided to spike temperatures this afternoon with a downslope wind off the Tehachapi Mountains. Bakersfield hit 74 degrees at 12pm today, and will top out near 76. Don’t be fooled though, change is on the way by late afternoon and evening. Increasing clouds can be expected with a chance of showers by tonight and Saturday morning. While most of our models keep the rain north of Kern County, we will put a 30% chance of isolated shower activity for Bakersfield. Rain amounts will be light as usual. Estimating between a trace and maybe hopefully squeeze out .01”-.05”. Showers if any should end by Saturday morning with clearing by the afternoon.
