Eden Prairie, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota Vikings rookie offensive tackle Matt Kalil was added to the NFC roster for the upcoming Pro Bowl on Friday, taking the spot of Washington's Trent Williams due to injury.

Kalil, the No. 4 overall selection in this past April's draft, started all 16 regular-season games for the Vikings at left tackle as well as the team's loss to Green Bay in the NFC Wild Card Playoffs. The USC product helped pave the way for running back Adrian Peterson's near-record total of 2,097 rushing yards, just nine shy of breaking Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson's NFL mark for most in a single season.

The 23-year-old will be the fourth Minnesota rookie named to the Pro Bowl since 2007, joining kicker and fellow 2012 draft choice Blair Walsh, Peterson (2007) and wide receiver Percy Harvin (2009).

Kalil's selection gives the Vikings seven participants in Sunday's Pro Bowl, with Peterson, Walsh, defensive end Jared Allen, fullback Jerome Felton, linebacker Chad Greenway and tight end Kyle Rudolph also on the NFC squad.
