Wake Forest University announced on Wednesday they have extended the contract of head basketball coach Dino Gaudio through the 2013-14 season.

"Dino has continued to move our basketball program forward, much as was anticipated when he was hired two years ago," Wake Forest Director of Athletics Ron Wellman said. "We are pleased with the progress of the student- athletes, both on and off the court, and Dino is responsible for that progress."

Gaudio, who came to the school as an assistant in 2002, took over for Skip Prosser on August 8, 2007 after the head coach died of an apparent heart attack in July of the same year. Gaudio has guided the program to a 41-20 mark in his first two seasons.

Prior to coming to Wake Forest, he accumulated a 36-72 record in four seasons at Army from 1993-94 through 1996-97 and went 32-52 in three years at Loyola-Maryland from 1997-98 through 1999-2000.
