LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Police Department is asking residents to be on the lookout for a sexual predator who has been targeting young girls in the mid-city area.
In four separate incidents over the last year, a man allegedly lured the girls, between 8 and 10 years old, into apartment buildings where he guided them to secluded areas and attempted to sexually assault them. Images of the man were caught on the apartment buildings' video surveillance systems.
Interim LAPD Chief Michael P. Downing says the man has an appetite for young girls and called for public vigilance.
The man is described as Latino with black hair and brown eyes, 25 to 45 years old, between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build.
