SAN DIEGO (AP) — A memorial service will be held for seven Coast Guard officers who died last week when their airplane collided with a Marine helicopter off of San Diego.

Two Marines also were killed.

The ceremony on Friday morning is at the Sacramento station where the C-130 was based. The 11 a.m. service will be broadcast live on the Internet.

The plane was searching for a missing boater when it collided with the Marine helicopter, which was on a training exercise.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Allyson Conroy says a search has ended and no bodies have been recovered. However, a Coast Guard cutter is staying at the crash site in case other boats find wreckage.

A joint Marines-Coast Guard board is investigating the cause of the crash.
