BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - There was excitement in the city of Taft on Wednesday as a music video was filmed in the area.
Rumors were swirling that the music video involved Justin Bieber, according to Taft Independent Newspaper, but several witnesses told us they saw The Weeknd (pronounced "the weekend.")
"We thought it was going to be Justin Bieber, but it's actually The Weeknd," said Victoria Ybarra.
Our 17 News camera wasn't allowed to get that close to the video shoot.
A viewer who works in the area shared photos of what he says are film crews setting up.
Roads were closed in the area so production crews could set up.
This is not the first time a music video has been filmed in Taft. In September 2016, Meghan Trainor came to town to film a music video for "Better."
