The family of an Oildale man hit and killed by a Sheriff's cruiser in Oildale has now filed a wrongful death suit against the county.
Daniel Hiler was one of two people killed on Norris road in December. His family is now suing the county.
Deputy John Swearengin was responding to a stolen vehicle call when he hit and killed Hiler and Crystal Clevenger. Clevenger's family has also filed a wrongful death claim against the county.
The crash is still being investigated by the CHP.
