Hundreds of women will gather in Downtown Bakersfield on Thursday for the 23rd annual Women's Business Conference. It's a chance for women to discuss topics that matter to them like health, finance and careers.
This year's event is sold out with about 1,500 women expected to attend and listen to keynote speakers like model and mogul Tyra Banks.
"I've always been inspired by Tyra Banks and what she has been able to do throughout her career," conference chairwoman Lameka Ross said. "She has transformed herself and I think that is a good message for women, she's all about female empowerment."
The conference is also an opportunity for women to network within the community. The goal is to give women the tools and resources they need for personal and professional growth.
"I want women to feel inspired and motivated to be their best self in every area of their life," Ross said.
The conference is from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. To learn more visit
