A southern California woman is dead after a rollover crash on Highway 99.
It happened around 6:30 last night at the White Lane offramp. CHP officers say 45-year-old Carolyn Gholar from Monrovia was speeding. She lost control on the offramp, crashed into a ditch, and flipped over. She died at the scene.
One witness described the moments leading up to the fatal crash.
"The lady behind us, she was tailgating us really close," said witness German Heredi. "She started swerving trying to go around traffic and she went too far over to the left shoulder and she lost control of the car, started drifting, and flipped."
Gholar's passenger had minor to moderate injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center. Officers say both people were wearing seat belts.
