I'm sorry to say this or maybe I'm not, but both are victims. PEOPLE PEOPLE QUIT BULLYING these kids!! If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. We learned this in pre-school. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. That's another one. R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!! Why do these kids continue to bully?!?! I'm sorry for the victim Bowe, but I'm sorry for Oliver also. Making fun/bullying these kids is not right. U push and push and push and u pushed him right off the deep end. Now everyone in that community is suffering. It could have been so much worse. I pray for a full speedy recovery for victim Bowe, but I also pray for Oliver and his family. U bullies out there need to just stop. It's not funny to pick, poke, and make fun of others. Maybe one day they will grow up, mature, and realize the damage words and actions have on others. If you witness this….and don’t say anything or stand up to the bully, then you are just as guilty as him/her. Stand up people and don’t let this continue. Protect your friends and classmates. Tell someone. Also, I have to say WAY TO GO teacher/staff that talked Oliver down. You probably saved many lives that day. I just hope that if something like that were to happen at my child’s school, their teacher would be as heroic as you were. May the LORD bless you all!

Watching and listening to the local reporters today at the school was embarrassing. No wonder people make fun of Bakersfield and Kern County.

Thank God that Congressman Kevin McCarthy was there to represent the NRA and the right to own shotguns.

Oh, the school is going to provide 'counselors' tomorrow. How about telling people how they will protect their kids??? This is just sickening!

I have to say, anyone who would keep their kids in public schools, or even private for that matter, is a fool. As long as schools continue to put their heads in the sand and refuse to take measures to protect students and staff, these shootings will continue. I see a mass turning to homeschooling for those parents who are capable of doing so. People are askng themselves, "Is my kid next?"

Just got info from parent of Taft student. Teacher who was shot actually tackled the gunman and was grazed. Also gave name of shooter, teacher, and student shot.

Parent of student at Taft texted that the teacher (Mr. Hebert?) was grazed with a bullet when he tackled the gunman. She also gave all the names of the student shot and the shooter.

Taft Union High School is not apart of KCHSD. They are there own District.

TUHS is not part of KHSD.
