Update: Amber Alert has been canceled, suspect arrested, children safe

The Merced office of the California Highway Patrol says the Amber Alert has been canceled.  The suspect's vehicle was found.  Phillip Tumilty has been located and arrested.  The children are safe.  
The following is a news release from the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department: 

Empire, CA – The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department has issued an Amber Alert for two missing children.

Information on children:
1-Phillip Tumilty Jr 9-years old
2-Tiffany Tumilty 6-years old

Suspect Information:
Phillip Eugene Tumilty, 47-years old
Height-6’2”, Weight 195, Hair-Brown, Eyes-Brown

Vehicle: 2001 Ford F150 Pick-up, Black
California License Plate: 8W32929

Friday morning the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department responded to a family disturbance in the 4900 block of Brooklyn Ct in the community of Empire. Deputies learned that the suspect Phillip Tumilty was involved in an argument with this ex-wife. After the argument, Phillip told his ex-wife that he would take the kids to school.

Later in the morning it was discovered that the two children were not taken to school. There is child custody order in place and Phillip is a non-custodial parent on the child custody order. Attempts to contact Phillip were unsuccessful and an Amber Alert was issued.

Anyone with information about this case or anyone spotting the suspects vehicle is asked to call 9-1-1.
