A UPS driver has been fired after a Bakersfield family said he discriminated against them.

The family e-mailed 17News a few weeks ago after a UPS driver wrote a derogatory term on their packaging slip while dropping off a package at their home.

Anant Singh says his father is a member of the Sikh religion and wears a turban.

When his father signed for a UPS package a couple weeks ago, Singh said the driver asked for his signature as usual.

But the family calls what they found on the tracking slip days later. both hurtful and upsetting.

They happened to see it said signed by the word "terrorist".

UPS investigated the case and has since let the driver go, a UPS spokesman said Monday.
