UPDATE: The California Highway Patrol has reported that they have also closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 just east of the Nevada state line. The Northbound closure is temporary and one lane will be open soon.
The southbound I-15 remains closed after a tanker truck carrying 4,100 gallons of ferric chloride acid overturned in the southbound lanes by Yates Wells Rd and is leaking onto the highway.
A CHP news alert says the closure will last for at least several hours and there is no alternate route into Las Vegas.
