The CHP closed Interstate 5 over the Grapevine at about 4 p.m. Thursday after snow again began sticking on the mountain pass.
There was no estimate of when it would re-open.
The freeway was closed between Grapevine Road and the community of Castaic. Moderate snow began falling in the Lebec area.
A viewer stuck on the road said his car thermometer said it was 28 degrees at 4:15 p.m.
It was the second time Thursday the roadway had to be shutdown.
