Two Bakersfield CHP officers accused in a sexual assault investigation, have resigned.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the two officers, whose names have not been released, submitted their resignations last Friday.

The woman accusing the officers, says the sexual assault happened after she left the Sky Bar Lounge on Rosedale Highway with two friends around 2 a.m. last month.

She says they had too much to drink and a Sheriff's Deputy pulled her over for speeding near Merle Haggard Drive and Highway 99. That deputy then called the CHP to give her a field sobriety test. She says she failed all the tests, and the officers told her she could either be arrested for DUI or they could follow her home.

When they got to the woman's home, she says one officer followed her into her bedroom and raped her.

The District Attorney's office says it could take 30 days to get test results back on DNA samples taken from the woman, her bedroom, and the officers involved.

Are these the same officers against whom the D.A. refused to press criminal charges against? The D.A. goes after people EVERY day on less evidence than the statements given by the victims. But our wonderful D.A. obviously has a double standard. If you're wearing a badge, you can pretty much do whatever you want in this town. Why do you people keep voting in weirdos at the D.A.'s office?

DR999, i'm with you on that- i thought there was probably about 10-15% truth and a whole bunch of BS to the stories. i later found out that, from an informed source, that "there hasn't been anything false printed in the news stories" i don't understand some of these officers---with DNA, GPS in your phones and cars, and with video recordings of everything, why in the world would you do this?

I knew someone that had this happen to them back in the 60s. Apparently, the CHP is the stud service for the State. Too bad they're completely worthless for anything else.

They would have been fired regardless, so they chose to resign. Fact is they were aquainted with the lady, as she was a dancer at a local establishment.
