A train sparked a couple of fires in Rosedale.  Firefightes say as soon as they put one fire out, they immediately noticed smoke from another one.

A fire burned the dry brush and wood pallets alongside the tracks.  Kern county fire crews were called to Gilmore Avenue and Rosedale Highway.  Crews found a small fire, and quickly knocked it down.  But they were far from done.

About a mile away, they saw smoke from another fire which was noticeably bigger.  The problem for crews, though, was getting to the area of Highway 99 and Golden State Highway.

Battalion Chief Mark Geary, Kern County Fire Department.  "It's in a triangle between a freeway a rail line and a commercial yard that's locked up and we just had a real hard time locating where it was, and how best to get to it."

Fire officials say Saturday's fire is not related to the fires they fought in the same area Friday.

Damage is estimated at 10-thousand dollars, and crews saved an estimated 100-thousand dollars in property and materials.
