Dozens of your neighbors are turning warm hearts into warm bodies. North Bakersfield Toyota Scion has wrapped up its "warm hearts campaign."
The car dealership offered to donate a coat or blanket to the homeless, for every person who came in to test drive a Toyota Scion. Organizers say the turnout really surprised them.
"The community of Kern County has just been so awesome what they did is they'd come out a test drive a Scion and have us donate one on their behalf, but they'd also donate bag loads of stuff," said Alex Ayyoub, North Bakersfield Toyota Scion.
In all, 230 coats and 50 blankets were donated, enough to fill two Toyota Scion cars. They'll go to people staying at the Bakersfield Homeless Shelter.
