A local foundation holds a basketball tournament called Hoops of Hope for at risk youth.

Wednesday night was the third year the Wendale Davis Foundation hosted the tournament. Twenty two teams of inner city teens played against each other to learn teamwork and friendly competition.

"We kind of believe that this is the age where you lose them at," said Wesley Davis, president of the Wendale Davis Foundation. "These kids are 12, 13, 14 years old. Beyond this, it kinda goes downhill for many kids so we want to give them an opportunity to do something different."

The tournament picks up again Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Stone Creek Junior High School gymnasium.
