From what I been hearing over the next twenty years CA will have more people on welfare than are working! The working class are all leaving or retiring!

Texas has been luring companies and people from CA for years because of the tax rate, cost of living that continues to rise here. The oil industry in TX is back on the upswing, high tech companies are shifting their work there. New jobs are NOT mostly minimum wage, their well paying and workers see more of it on paydays. Housing costs are almost half of what they are here when you consider the size of the home you get for your money. And, 20 of the top 100 school districts in the country are in Texas according to a national report published yearly. They have great major medical centers in all of their large cities, with easy access whether you have private insurance, employee provided insurance or state provided programs. I give Perry credit for coming to CA and pushing for business to move there. Texas has also been named the best state to do business for the last 8 years, while CA has been named the worst state in those same economic reports. If I were a business owner, TX would be one of the places I would consider moving my company to at this point, CA is not in any way business friendly.

Texas isn't just attractive to businesses due to their less restrictions and lower costs Texas is also attractive to employee's and retiree's with no state income tax.
