This is terrible. His life is ruined whether he's guilty or not, and that's just sad.

Innocent until proven guilty. That's all to be said.

Where there's smoke there's fire SteveAl. Just because someone has an "outstanding" reputation or lack of a criminal record doesn't mean a thing!! My own father had an "outstanding" reputation and no criminal record....yet molested his own grandchild and was prosecuted and served only 3 yrs. Reputation has nothing to do with what goes on in the perverts heads!

Until the teachers are subjected to a true background check the molestation of students will continue. The current check only turns up convictions and is all but worthless. Teachers need to be subjected to the same background examination as police officers in order to weed out most of the undesirables. Some will always sneak through but nowhere near as many as are lurking in the classrooms now. Of course the CTA will never allow this to happen.

He was accused, not convicted. I feel as if everyone is taking this as a proven fact. He is innocent until proven guilty. It is never fair to take that right away; Especially from someone with no criminal record who appears to have an outstanding reputation with his students and their families.

Background checks are only informative if a person has been charged/arrested/found guilty of a crime. Also, I don't know this person or the facts, but don't be too quick to rush to judgement. Remember the child molestation panic here in the 80s? Every one of the defendants guilty verdicts were overturned. Shady and improper behavior by Ed Jagels and Lisa Green.....This guy might be guilty, in which case he should go to prison. But I'd hate to claim guilt before the proof.
