The weather was perfect for a good old fashioned barbeque Wednesday. TV-17 and Halliburton teamed up to help out the Bakersfield Homeless Center.

There is nothing better than a fresh burger on the grill. Add some fresh tomatoes, pickles and onions, a drink, a bag of chips and you have a full meal deal from the ooks at Halliburton.

Taking time out of a busy schedule to help the Bakersfield Homeless Center.  Paul Smith, Halliburton said it was a labor of love. "Just the personal satisfaction. I mean the homeless center does a lot for people around town and we have helped before. This is one of the bigger events," said Smith, who was in charge of the Halliburton team. "Just a little self satisfaction."

The money raised at this fundraiser will help the Bakersfield Homeless Center and its numerous programs.  It will also give everyone who donated their time and money personal saticfacton, knowing that it will go towards getting someone back on their feet.

More than 12-hundred hamburgers were sold at Wednesday's fundraiser.   In all, nearly six-thousand dollars was raised. All the hamburgers and supplies for the event were donated by Halliburton. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Bakersfield Homeless Center.
