Surveillance video has been released from the night a Sheriff's deputy hit and killed two people while responding to a call on Norris Road.  Local attorney Steve Nichols showed 17 News security footage from a Mobil gas station that shows what happened in the critical moments before the crash.

Nichols says in the video, you see Deputy John Swearengin speed through the intersection without his emergency lights on.  The video shows the intersection of Norris Road and Oildale Drive, one block east of the crash.

There's no audio on the video so you can't tell if his siren is on.  There has been a lot of speculation about whether the deputy was speeding and if he was using his headlights and emergency lights.

"The fact that you are going to be traveling out there at a high rate of speed with no lights and sirens on was really not called for," said attorney Steve Nichols.

Crystal Clevenger and Daniel Hiler were killed when they were hit by the deputy's car.  Nichols has filed a wrongful death claim against the county on behalf of Clevenger's family.

Sheriff Donny Youngblood declined to comment extensively about what happened saying he was waiting for the CHP to complete its investigation.
