Fewer Californians are supporting the High-Speed Rail project according to a new poll and the Los Angeles Times.

Even though voters approved nearly 10 billion dollars in state bonds to pay for the first phase of the project which would go through Bakersfield. A new survey from the Public Policy Institute of California found that they remain divided over the proposal.

Just 43 percent say they favor the project while 54 percent say they are against it.

Earlier in the week, the High-Speed Rail Authority authorized the sale of more than 8 and a half billion dollars in bonds.. that will help fund the first part of the railway.

Now if the high speed rail would really like more support for the first leg of this high speed project then how about letting the first length go from Bakersfield to Los Angeles! Sure would help the valley to have transportation going trough the grapevine instead of over it for a good price!

Here's a novel idea: Use that money instead to 1) Fix our roadways, and 2) Put criminals back in jail/prison where they belong! I think Californians have been against high-speed rail ever since the politicians couldn't figure out if it's going to cost us $68 or $100 billion. Anyone want to wager the actual cost will probably end up 3-4 times those figures?
