Local students are hoping to make the winter a little warmer for those in need. Sixth grade students at Saint Francis School spent the day creating tie-blankets for homeless people in our community. They also collected items for their pets.
"They're going to go to the dogs and homeless people at St. Vincent de Paul," said 6th grader Matthew Alvarado. "Hopefully they'll help keep them warm this winter."
"I would really appreciate it, if I was in their shoes," said 6th grade student Naize Marie Ubay. All of the items will be donated to the Saint Vincent de Paul Center on Baker street.
This is the second year the students have blankets for the homeless.
