"California is the only state in the union that does not have this kind of tax." We may not have this one but we have every other one you can possibly imagine! If I was a business person California would be the LAST place I would want to do business. It is sometimes just hard to believe that our elected officials are such idiots. But then again, the people seem to vote the same ones back in over and over again. It's the old saying, "If you do what you did you will get what you got." That's pretty much sums up California.

There is a tax every year for reserves still underground, sales tax when the oil is sold and a sales tax when they buy supplies, each oil company worker pays income, sales, property tax and a range of other taxes. Anyone selling the products pays a yearly inventory tax, sales tax, business tax and their employee pay the full range of taxes, but now California needs more. Will there ever be a point in time when they relies what a budget is and how to live by one? It’s no wonder businesses that can are relocating to other more tax friendly states.

Sen. Evans states Alaska has the severance tax on oil. True, but Alaska doesn't have a state income tax. Is Calif willing to have no income tax? NO! Out of the severance tax Alaska paid the residents $1654 per person, next year it's expected to be closer to $2,000 per person. Will Calif share the severance tax with the residents like Alaska does? NO! All Sacramento know's is tax, tax and tax more. It's little wonder why people are leaving Calif only to be replaced by imigrants from the south who's first stop is the welfare office.
