From Kern County Sheriff's Department news release:

On March 11, 2010 at about 9:15 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of 14th Street in Wasco regarding a victim of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they located Juan Jose Lopez, 19 years old, and Richard Adame, 21 years old, both suffering from gunshot wounds to their lower legs. Lopez and Adame were transported to Delano Regional Medical Center for treatment. Their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Deputies located a third victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his back in the 1000 block of 15th Street. The victim was identified as Jeremy Pearson, 25 years old. Pearson was taken to Kern Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.

Detectives are currently investigating this incident. It appears the three victims were together in the 1000 block of 14th Street when they were approached by a dark colored full sized pickup truck occupied by two to three Hispanic males. The suspects shot the three victims, and then fled the area in the vehicle.

Detectives are investigating the possibility the shooting may be gang related.

If anyone has any information regarding this shooting, they are urged to contact Detective Avery Simpson at (661) 391-7591, or the Secret Witness Hotline at (661) 322-4040.
