A second jury has deadlocked in the case of a local teen charged in the beating death of an elderly woman.

It's been nearly three years since Dorothy Session was beaten in her east Bakersfield home during a robbery.

Two defendants were convicted and sentenced. But, two juries have now failed to reach a verdict for Angelique Nash.

Angelique is charged with first degree murder in the death of 81-year-old Dorothy Session.

Angelique's sister, Katila Nash, and friend David Moses were found guilty of first degree murder in September, but the jury deadlocked on Angelique who, prosecutors say, acted as a lookout.

This week, prosecutors re-tried the case, with the same result. The jury was split 10 to 2 in favor of a guilty verdict.

"It seems like there's a small group of people that don't believe one of the people's key witnesses and that's what's holding it up," said Fred Gagliardini, Angelique's attorney.

Angelique Nash's sister, Katila, was convicted and sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

David Moses was sentenced to life in prison.
