Ginny--I appreciate your anger and enthusiasm, but give the D.A. some credit here. This guy is looking at serious prison time for this murder. Hopefully, enough evidence will surface, allowing the mother to be charged with at least felony child endangerment, and hopefully murder also. But, it's a little overdramatic at this point in the criminal proceedings to say that the defendants will be "given a slap on the wrist and allowed to walk away as if nothing happened." This county is known for our strong stance on crime, so give the D.A.'s some credit that they'll pursue the strongest charges possible.

While this so called 'man' will get his penaltes for killing this innocent, helpless baby, the so called MOTHER needs to also face the same penalties. We, as a community need to tell our DA that they both should be held responsible for this murder, that we WILL NOT allow them to come to a plea deal and that WE THE COMMUNITY are finally willing to speak for our lost children. Until we stand together these less than human waste will continue to be given a slap on the wrist and allowed to walk away as if nothing happened. Is that what a childs life is worth to our society today...nothing? I for one say NO!

I am a man also and I would never hurt my kids,I have babies and when I read this story of almost made me wanna cry..This mother is just as much to blame as he is,you can tell when someone cannot handle young babies.Woman need to be cautious when bringing these inexperienced men in there homes with young babies......This guy needs the ultimate punishment and no mercy on the woman ...LIFE not manslaughter .....

I'm a man and I would never hurt a baby in any way, and any "man" that does is NO man, but a coward, because only a coward would hurt someone who is 10 times smaller than he is and probably 1000 times weaker. I bet if this low life encountered a real man he would run like a little b***h.

It is discusting men cant stand a child or baby crying.Thats what they do. It makes me cry knowing the pain and suffering the poor little girlwent through.

Notice that in one of the two photos attached to the news video, mom is having to hold back the pit bull, obviously afraid of it biting the child. This poor little girl was born to a crappy mother--the deck was stacked against her from the time she was born. Too bad we can't force-sterilize women like her.

Stories like this really piss me off! How can anyone hurt a baby? This piece of s**t deserves to die. I would love to be a part of the jury that sentences him to death. And why was the "mother" released? She may not have been the one abusing her baby, but she sure as hell didn't stop her a**hole boyfriend from hurting her. She KNEW he was abusing her, forget that "suspected" crap, SHE KNEW, and she did NOTHING. She cares more about her boyfriend of 2 and 1/2 months than her own flesh and blood. And then she goes and tells the piece of s**t that she will visit him in jail... WOW. What a nice way to honor the memory of your dead baby. RIP Sophialynn, I didn't know you but I'm still heartbroken about your murder (she didn't die, she was murdered!) Poor baby was CHOKED even, they found bruises on either side of her neck the size of thumbs. THIS A**HOLE ACTUALLY CHOKED HER!! A BABY!! He slammed her head onto brick and had the nerve to blame the dog, he THREW her against a metal frame- HER HEAD. So sad... I will light a candle for you and for all the babies who are abused and killed every day. It's just so horrible. Again I ask, how can anyone hurt a baby?? I really hope he dies and I hope the mother is charged with something, anything. I doubt it though... B***h is probably already knocked up again. And the cycle continues...
