For four years the Andrade family has walked to cure cancer, but this year will be different because this year they are walking for their father George.
"Well George is not just my father-in-law he's like a father to me," Reuban Galvez said. "I just want to do it this year in memory of him to show him how much I love him and appreciate him"
George Andrade - a father, husband and friend - died of liver cancer in February. His family still feels the pain, fresh and raw, from their loss.
"It's really hard when you lose somebody and it happened really fast," Andrade's daughter Regina Galvez said. "It was really hard on my mom, my brothers and sisters and it's awful this disease is awful."
To help find a cure for this awful disease, the Andrade family will join thousands of others affected by cancer at Relay for Life.
"It's just getting out of control. Cancer needs to be controlled. We need to find away to eliminate it," Andrade's wife Rita Andrade said.
With 26-family members walking on their team, its become a family affair.
"My kids look forward to relay more than Christmas," Galvez said. "They love going out there and raising money and they don't expect anything in return."
Now that they're doing it for their grandpa it means more. Galvez even died his hair green in memory of Andrade, last year it was purple.
"They thought I was pretty crazy, but it raises money for a good cause and whatever it takes to raise money for relay I'm all for it," he said.
The walk starts Saturday morning at 9 am. 17 News will have a special one-hour edition of KGET News at 5 Saturday night.
Organizers said more than $1.4 million has been raised so far and donations are still coming in.
