A new record was set at this weekend's Wasco-Shafter Relay for Life. The event raised 97,100 dollars.
More than a thousand people showed up to Wasco High School and walked all weekend to help raise money for cancer research. Opening ceremonies started Saturday morning, followed by the survivor lap and a 24 hour relay.
This weekend is Bakersfield's Relay for Life event where close to 1.3 million dollars has been raised so far.
