BAKERSFIELD, CA - A unique cat from Iran has landed at the Bakersfield SPCA. JiJi is a mini pixie bobcat which is a cross between a bobcat and a domestic cat.

He's deaf, but very vocal.

The International Humane Society was rescuing dogs in Tehran, Iran when they came across JiJi and flew him almost 8,000 miles to Bakersfield.

"This cat just showed up just completely beaten up, injured, had bite marks, he was bloody, he had scabs, and everything else, and in the midst of all these dogs, here comes this poor little cat," said Julie Johnson, Executive Director of the Bakersfield SPCA.

JiJi is energetic and loves to play, but he's also looking for a warm lap to curl up on.

The SPCA says he doesn't like being left alone and would do best in a home without dogs.

If you are interested in adopting JiJi, call the Bakersfield SPCA at 661-323-8353

He looks sweet. I would take him, however, can't get through to the phone line. On hold for long while.

We don't have enough dogs and cats without homes being taken to the pound we now have to import them from Iran and god only knows from where else?
