The Bakersfield Police Department is asking the public to be on the look out for a sex offender who has not re-registered.

Eliezer Diaz is required to register as a result of a 1988 conviction for lewd/lascivious acts with a child under 14.  Diaz was released from Avenal State Prison in June and hasn't registered as a sex offender.

If you have any information on his location you are asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.

I THINK IT WOULD BE NICE FOR THE STATE TO VARIFY..WHERE THE SEX OFFENDER IS SUPPOSE TO LIVE, HALF WAY HOUSE,ECT,,, TALK TO SOMEONE.BUT IF THEY HAVE DONE ALL THEIR TIME AND ARE NOT RELEASED ON PAROLE.THEY ARE INTITLED TO LIVE ALMOST ANYWHERE. LIKE IT OR NOT.

bahnghit, basically how it works is the offender goes to the registry office, fills out some forms about his address, the car he drives, where he works, what he looks like, any scars or tattoos, etc. The state doesn't know where he lives, so he has to submit that information. The state doesn't know where YOU live, which is why you give them that information whenever you have to fill out government paperwork. Besides, if he is willing to skip out on registration ( which is a felony ) then you couldn't trust any information he would give anyway, as it would probably be false. The ones that refuse to register are the most dangerous of them all. I'm going to tell everyone I know to look out for this guy.

I reported the exact location of an unregistered sex offender last year to the Sheriff Office. They did nothing.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH! If he refuses to register, then why doesn't the state do it for him?...isn't there a law or something? Why do we have to rely the offenders to inform the public? Ridiculous.
