Pedestrian killed in east Bakersfield hit and run

A pedestrian was hit and killed Sunday night in east Bakersfield. Now, CHP officers are looking for the driver that took off.

The incident happened around 9:45 at Niles Street and Valencia Drive. The intersection was closed for some time while CHP officers investigated the incident.

No word on if the man was walking in a crosswalk. His name has not yet been released.

I agree with you Oldfart, this is a daily thing on the East side because they can't speak or read English and just cross whereever the heck they want. The only reason it made the news on this day was because it was a slow news day.
